I wanted to paint my parents to tell their story. They left their home in Korea with my two older brothers and me to start a new life in Canada. My parents went through a lot of hardships trying to make a living to support the family. Through the years, they survived the turbulence and conflict in their marriage. My mother, to the end, took care of my father until his death recently. This simple image of them eating together shows their love and commitment to each other.
